The 2018–2026 Touareg ships with wireless CarPlay switched off and its 5GHz WiFi locked — and that 5GHz band is exactly what wireless CarPlay needs to stay fast and stable. Dealer retrofits, generic USB adapters and other CarPlay upgrades leave that 5GHz lock in place, so wireless stays laggy, drops out, or you are stuck with a cable. We unlock it natively in software: full-screen wireless CarPlay & Android Auto on the factory screen, with nothing plugged into the glovebox. Remote activation, self-install by SD/USB.
