Porsche PCM 5 Now Supports Native Wireless Android Auto
Updated: Sep 24
Updated September 2026. Innovative Soft offers a vehicle-specific route for converting already-working wired Android Auto on an eligible Porsche PCM5 configuration to a native wireless connection. The supported result does not require a permanently connected USB wireless adapter. Compatibility must be checked from the vehicle, market, PCM software and current Android Auto behaviour rather than model year alone.
What does the Porsche PCM5 wireless Android Auto upgrade change?
The Porsche PCM5 wireless Android Auto upgrade changes the connection method for an eligible vehicle that already runs Android Auto through USB. After the confirmed setup, the Android phone connects to PCM5 wirelessly instead of being plugged in for every drive. This service does not add Android Auto to a vehicle where Android Auto is absent.
Is this an Android Auto activation or a wireless conversion?
Android Auto activation and wireless Android Auto conversion are different jobs. If Android Auto does not work through USB, the vehicle first needs a separate compatibility review for Porsche Android Auto activation. If wired Android Auto already works, the PCM5 native wireless Android Auto product is the relevant route to check.
Full-screen display changes are also separate. A wider display layout does not prove that Android Auto is activated or that a native wireless connection is available.
What does Porsche say about wired and wireless Android Auto?
Porsche's current factory guide lists wired Android Auto on certain 911, Taycan, Panamera and Cayenne vehicles from model year 2022 with software cluster 35, and wireless Android Auto with software cluster 37. Porsche also states that availability can vary by country and that a cluster 35-to-37 update may be available through a Porsche Centre. Macan Electric and Cayenne Electric have separate entries. These factory examples do not prove that every PCM5 vehicle, every market or every software version is eligible for the Innovative Soft retrofit route.

Which Porsche PCM5 vehicles can be reviewed?
Innovative Soft can review PCM5-equipped examples from the Porsche 911 (992), Cayenne, Panamera and Macan families. This is a review list, not a universal fitment list. A model badge or model year cannot identify the installed PCM software, original market, prior activation state or later modifications.
Before ordering, provide:
Porsche model and model year
original sales market and current country
PCM/software information screen
whether Android Auto currently works through USB
a description or photo of the current phone connection
whether the requested result is activation, wireless connection or full-screen display
Share VIN or build information privately only when Innovative Soft requests it for compatibility review.
Native wireless Android Auto or a USB adapter?
Route | How the phone connects | What remains in the USB port | Compatibility decision |
Native PCM5 wireless route | Android phone connects directly to the eligible PCM5 system | No permanently connected adapter is intended | Vehicle, market, PCM/software and existing wired Android Auto must be confirmed |
Wireless Android Auto adapter | Android phone connects through an external adapter that presents itself to the vehicle as a wired source | The adapter remains connected | Existing wired Android Auto, USB compatibility and adapter behaviour must be confirmed |
An adapter can be a practical option for some vehicles. The native route is for owners who want the PCM itself to provide the confirmed wireless connection without keeping a separate adapter connected.
How is the upgrade delivered?
Innovative Soft confirms the vehicle-specific delivery path before the order is accepted. The agreed scope identifies any customer-side preparation, remote support, local role or equipment requirement. Proprietary files, security credentials and activation procedures are not published in this guide.
After setup, verify the requested result with the car parked: Android Auto opens, audio and navigation operate through the PCM, the Android phone reconnects wirelessly, and no unexpected warning remains. Keep the service record and ask what checks apply after later Porsche dealer software work.
Frequently asked questions about Porsche PCM5 wireless Android Auto
Can this upgrade add Android Auto if my Porsche has no Android Auto menu?
No. The PCM5 native wireless Android Auto product requires eligible wired Android Auto to be working first. A vehicle with Android Auto absent needs a separate activation and compatibility review.
Does the upgrade make Android Auto full screen?
Not automatically. Android Auto activation, wireless connectivity and display layout are separate outcomes. Confirm each requested result before ordering.
Does every Porsche PCM5 vehicle qualify?
No. Eligibility depends on the exact vehicle, original market, PCM/software state, installed equipment and current Android Auto operation. Model year alone is not sufficient.
Does the native route require a USB wireless adapter?
No permanently connected USB wireless adapter is intended for an eligible native route. Compatibility must be confirmed before purchase.
Can Innovative Soft support customers outside New Zealand?
Yes. Innovative Soft supports international customers, but the remote, local and equipment requirements are confirmed for each vehicle before the order is accepted.
